There has been a lot of drama going on about whether Dwight will stay in L.A. or decide to sign with another team (specifically Dallas or Atlanta) over the last week. A lot of sports websites gloss over the fact that Dwight can earn an almost 25 million dollars extra in guaranteed money if he opts to go into free agency this summer and re-sign with the Lakers. Because the Lakers have his BIRD rights, they can offer him more years and money than any other team. While Dwight is yet to reveal whether he plans to re-sign next off-season, which is probably what his agent has told him not to do, he did buy a 20 million dollar house in Newport Beach this week. Buying a house doesn’t mean that much when you’re a player that makes roughly 20 million a year, and can sell it probably just as easy as you bought it, but it is something positive to look at after Dwight’s press conference, at which shied away from questions about next off-season.
Here’s a look at Superman’s new house.
EDIT****
Dwight has since tweeted that the reports of him buying this house are false.
